Kocatepe is the hill where Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal set up the headquarters from which he directed the Great Offensive on 26 August 1922. The hill has a monument, the command-post building and war cemeteries, and the area forms the Afyonkarahisar section of the Başkomutan Historical National Park. It draws visitors especially during the commemorations held each year from 26 to 30 August.
