Eskil is a district south of the Salt Lake. Byzantine theatre ruins survive at the Ortakuyu plateau, and the stone-paved traces of the historic Baghdad road can still be seen in the Bayramdüğün area; the mosque in the town centre dates from the Seljuk period.
