Zinciriye Madrasa

Built in 1336 by Yahşi Bey of the Karamanid beylik using local cut tuff and brick, the madrasa has a four-eyvan plan around an open courtyard, with battlements on its outer walls giving it the look of a fortress. Its portal, in the Seljuk tradition, is carved with floral and geometric motifs. The building served as the Aksaray Museum from 1985 until the museum moved to a new building, after which it was restored and is now used for social and cultural events.
