İvrindi, with Mount Kaz to its west and Mount Madra to its southwest, has the fertile İvrindi plain. It is known for kelle cheese and lor (curd cheese), along with mountain produce such as chestnuts, walnuts and thyme. Settlement in the area dates back to 3000-4000 BC.
