The layered ancient city that inspired Homer's Iliad.

Troy is made up of layers of settlements built one on top of another over thousands of years, and it became famous through Homer's Iliad. It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1998. The Troy Museum near the site displays the finds.
