Oğuzlar is a small district close to central Çorum. Its founding is traditionally linked to Karadonlu Can Baba, a 13th-century follower of Hacı Bektaş Veli; it was a village attached to İskilip until 1964 and became a district in 1990. The Obruk Dam on the Kızılırmak river lies within the district.
