The Walls of Diyarbakır

The walls of Diyarbakır, with basalt ramparts, towers and gates stretching for kilometres, are counted among the world's longest city walls. The walls and the Hevsel Gardens on the Tigris were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2015. Some towers look out over the Tigris valley and the gardens.
