The Erzurum Grand Mosque was completed in 1179 under the Saltukid Beylik. With its spacious interior measuring 52.5 by 41 metres, its many columns and the muqarnas dome at its centre, it is one of the great mosques of the Seljuk period. It has been repaired many times over the centuries.
