Torul Castle, built in the Middle Ages and known to have been incorporated into Ottoman territory under Mehmed the Conqueror, was constructed for defence and observation. On a nearby summit, on the route linking the Zigana tunnel and Karaca Cave, a glass viewing terrace 240 metres above the ground - among the highest of its kind in Türkiye - covers 90 square metres, lies just 2 km from the highway, and can hold 50 people at once.
