Gölcük is a crater lake southwest of central Isparta, about 8km from the city centre, at an elevation of 1,300 metres. Nearly circular and ringed by hills 150-300 metres high covered in volcanic ash, the lake is 1.5km across and up to 30 metres deep. It is a nature park used by locals of Isparta for day trips, walking and sport.
