Kağıthane

Kağıthane, on İstanbul's European side, is bordered by Sarıyer, Beşiktaş, Şişli, Beyoğlu and Eyüpsultan, and takes its name from an old paper mill in the area. Built on the banks of the Kağıthane stream during the Tulip Era, the Sadabad Pavilion and its surrounding recreation grounds were among the Ottoman period's favourite promenade spots; the pavilion's remains and the Fountain of Ahmed III can still be seen today.
