Kiraz is a mountainous district east of İzmir, lying east of Ödemiş and Beydağ near the Manisa and Aydın borders. It is known for its vineyards and orchards; farming dominates the plains while livestock is more important in the mountain villages. Potatoes, tobacco, cotton, olives, chestnuts, walnuts and figs are grown here.
