Onikişubat is one of Kahramanmaraş's two central districts, named after the city's liberation on 12 February 1920. Kahramanmaraş Castle, rising on a hill in the middle of the city, is its landmark. The district was affected by the 2023 earthquakes and some buildings may be under repair.
