Built between 1237 and 1238 by Mahperi Hunat Hatun, wife of Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad I and mother of Kayhusraw II, the complex consists of a mosque, madrasa, tomb and bathhouse. It is considered one of the most important examples of Anatolian Seljuk architecture; according to its inscription, the mosque was built outside the city walls of the time.
