Kabataş is an inland district of Ordu in the transition zone between Black Sea and continental climate; formerly the village of Karay, it took the name Kabataş in 1928 and became a district in 1991. Mineral water springs believed to have healing properties, and the Perşembe Plateau shared with Aybastı, are its natural highlights.
