Zorkun Plateau, in Osmaniye's Merkez district, lies at 1,650 metres in the Amanos Mountains; together with Namrun Plateau in Mersin and Tekir Plateau in Adana, it is considered one of the three oldest plateaus of the Çukurova region. Traditional plateau houses set among pine forest host a large seasonal population in summer, with a shop, restaurants and basic services available.
