Beytüşşebap is the most mountainous district of Şırnak, set among the Altın Dağları, Mount Tanin and the Kato plateau, about 20 km from the Iraqi and Syrian borders. At 2,566 metres, its centre is one of the highest district centres in Turkey; it has hot springs, and the sources of the Habur River lie within its borders.
