Şuhut is a district at the easternmost edge of the Inner Aegean, 29 km from the Afyonkarahisar city centre. It is home to the remains of the ancient city later known as Synnada, once capital of the Hittite-era Kuvalya principality; Atatürk stayed briefly in Şuhut in August 1922 before the Great Offensive.
