Sivrihisar is known for its Great Mosque, built in 1274 with 67 wooden columns, making it Türkiye's largest wooden-columned mosque; it is on the UNESCO World Heritage List together with Anatolia's other medieval wooden hypostyle mosques. The district is also remembered as the birthplace of Nasreddin Hoca.
