The Kilis Mevlevi Lodge stands on Cumhuriyet Square in the Tekke quarter of the town centre. Of the lodge founded in the 16th century, only the semahane (ceremonial hall) survives, and it is used as a mosque. Built of neat white and yellowish cut stone, it is known locally as "Ak Tekke" (the White Lodge). The square building stands out for its central dome on a high drum, its corner domes, the black-and-white stone bands on its façades and its colourful mihrab.
