İzmit

İzmit is the central district of Kocaeli, at the innermost point of the gulf. Seka Park, created from the former Seka paper factory, holds a paper museum, a city museum and a marina. İzmit's pişmaniye, a floss-like sweet made from flour and sugar, is known nationwide.
