The historic Yalova government building, restored through a joint initiative of the Yalova governorship and municipality, was opened as the City Museum with permission from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Its displays trace the city's history from signs of settlement 8,000 years ago through the Ottoman and Republican periods, using a city model, a model of the Yürüyen Köşk pavilion and reconstructions related to the local thermal-spa culture.
